Papau New Guinea - Nebilyer Valley

The Nebilyer Valley A 16+ comes from small family farms located in the Tambul-Nebilyer District of Papua New Guinea’s Western Highlands. Most producers cultivate coffee on just 1–2 hectares of land, carefully tending their trees alongside food crops in the fertile mountain soil.

After harvest, the cherries are delivered to the Kuta Mill, which has been operating in the region for more than 40 years. The coffee is fully washed and sun dried, producing a clean, balanced cup that highlights the natural sweetness of the beans.

Beyond processing coffee, the Kuta Mill plays an important role in the local community. Situated between the Ulga and Kolga tribes, it has become a place of cooperation and common ground for farmers from groups that have historically had tribal conflicts. Mill owner Brian Leahy also rewards quality by providing post-harvest bonus payments to farmers who consistently deliver exceptional cherries.
